Can someone on Threads tell this person that they don’t have Fediverse turned on? They’re trying to say Hi to us, but we can’t respond here.

@BeAware If the person is in Europe, they cannot turn the Fediverse on. Sniff sniff.
@BeAware I have a threads account and was looking for the Fediverse button for days until I discovered it’s only for non-EU members. I think the GDPR arguments from Meta doesn’t make sense as the protocol allow the deletion.
@BeAware Indeed it’s a valid point, some software doesn’t support deletion from the protocol. But I suppose it’s a minority looking at the stats and the argument could be the same for any Internet crawler or even common crawl dataset. There is no issue for those datasets. Maybe the Meta lawyers are too picky… or they had something else in mind when connecting.
