An interesting evolution in french, I was an shop selling books in France and they didn’t know the word “signet”. They told me it’s “marque-page” but it seems the word “signet” is quickly replaced by “marque-page”. So due to the introduction of Internet “signet” is becoming outdated ;-)

Below in the ngram viewer results from Google books. Red is “signet” and blue is “marque-page”. I’m officially old…
